Harrison (1920) reports a "foliated stoup" here, but does mention the font. The present font, octagonal basin with a castellated top, is modern, 19th-century. The church itself goes back to Norman times [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-293035-church-of-st-thomas-at-cliffe-lewes-east] [accessed 23 January 2013]. [NB: we have no information on the font from the medieval font here].
