Noted by Mee (1937) as a baptismal font that had been found buried in the churchyard. The CRSBI (2008) cites Mee but gives the present whereabouts of that font as unknown. The Sussex Parish Churches site [www.sussexparishchurches.org/content/view/25/34/] [accessed 13 December 2012] notes: "Font: c1969 with a small bowl of polished brownish marble. It replaced a C19 one when the tower space was fitted up as a baptistery. Arthur Mee (p125) describes seeing an ancient font in the churchyard which was said to have been dug up, but this is not apparent today."
