Harrison (1920) does not mention a font in the church re-built in 1838. The Victoria County History (Sussex, vol. 7, 1940) notes: "The parish church, of which the invocation is unknown [...] At the beginning of the last century, the church consisted of a 14th-century nave and chancel and a west tower. [...] The structure was, however, entirely rebuilt in 1838". There is no mention of a font or stoup in the VCH entry for this church. The Sussex Parish Churches site [www.sussexparishchurches.org/content/view/316/34/] [accessed 5 February 2013] notes: "Font: 1. Small and octagonal with a quatrefoil on each side, probably dating from 1838. 2. A plain round bowl, probably a former font, was found in the nearby woods in 1959 (5 p270), but was not reinstated."
