The Victoria County History (Sussex, vol. 7, 1940) notes: "The church of St. Peter [...] occupies the site of a 12th-century church of which the only evidence now left is a small capital found buried in the north wall of the nave in 1887 and now preserved in the north aisle. [...] The font, pulpit, and lectern are modern". The VCH entry (ibid.) does not mention either font or stoup in this church. The present font is 19th-century. [NB: we have no information on the font of the 12th-century church here].
