Font Notes:
Harrison (1920) notes the original Early English church and its restoration in 1833-1851, but does not mention a font in it. Described in Nairn & Pevsner (1965) as a "fearful mock-Norman" font in this church "cruelly restored by Street [...] Street would have done better to rebuild the lot" [G.E. Street, ca. 1870]. Baptismal font of Norman style but probably of the mid-19th century. [NB: we have no information on the medieval font of the 13th-century church]. [NB: earlier sources put the church in Woolavington / Woollavington]
