Catalogued and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: PM60001074] as a limestone baptismal font of the 12th century showing a considerable amount of damage; square basin raised on a central shaft and four outer columns; traces of paint on it; decorated [= "cuve baptismale à infusion [...] taille de pierre calcaire : taillé, peint, décor dans la masse [...] Pied central circulaire cantonné de quatre colonnettes. [...] mauvais état. Cuve fendue et recollée. [...] datés du 12e siècle"]. Illustrated in the database Mistral Mémoire [ref.: IVR22_93600038ZA] [www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/memoire_fr] [accessed 2 July 2012]. The decoration is simple and consists of a thin moulding all around just below of the upper rim, and simple roll mouldings on the capitals and bases of the outer colonnettes; the font is raised on a plain and square lower base. The font has remains on paint of it. The wooden cover is square, flat and plain; appears modern; one of the sides of the upper rim, probably where a staple of the old cover was originally, is badly damaged and poorly repaired.
