Font Notes:
Rivoire (1806), and Gilbert (1833) after him, reports the presence of a second font in thie cathedral, one that had belonged to the church of St. Firmin the Confessor until the Revolution, in the chapel of St. Peter & St. Paul, to which place it had been moved in 1791 [1792?]; this font, notes Rivoire (ibid.), is elegant and made of Italian marble, the oval basin raised on an overly slender baluster pedestal base also of marble. (3 pieds 9 pouces.)" The transcription of the inscription is slightly different in in Virgile Brandicourt (1915) [https://www.richesses-en-somme.com/patrimoine-des-églises/fonts-baptismaux/fonts-bapt-du-14e-au-18e/] [accessed 9 January 2022] [NB: we have no information on the medieval font of this church -- this chuch not to be mistaken with the 19th-century Eglise paroissiale Saint-Firmin-le-Martyr]
