Noted in Garcés & Ripoll (2010) as a 4th-century baptismal font discovered in the excavation of a possible Hispano-Roman religious site and, later, a Visigothic necropolis, by the side of the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Oreto y Zuqueca ["el testimonio material más importante de esa época es una pila bautismal por inmersión, fechada en el siglo IV, que ya indica la cristianización del lugar."] The font is reported as being very close to the walls of the 13th-century 'ermita'. For a detailed view of the archaeological work and of the re-constructed baptismal font visit the Centro de Estudios Calatravos site [https://cec.campodecalatrava.com/sites/default/files/zuqueca_1.pdf] [accessed 11 Aril 2024]. The entry for this archaeological site in the Spanish Wikipedia [https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yacimiento_arqueológico_de_Oreto_y_Zuqueca] [accessed 11 April 2024] reports "una pila bautismal paleocristiana del siglo IV" in it.
