The Victoria County History (Northampton, vol. 4, 1937) notes: "The advowson of Overstone Church, first mentioned in 1223, [...] was appendant to the manor until the end of the 17th century [...] The old church stood in front of the former manor-house [...] The present building [...] which stands within the park about a quarter of a mile north of the mansion, was erected on a new site about 1803". The VCH does not mention a font in the entry for this parish. [NB: we have no information on the font of the earlier church here].
