The Victoria County History (Bedford, vol. 2, 1908) notes: "The church of All Saints [...] development from the thirteenth century is clear, but no evidence of earlier work remains. [...] The font near the north door is of white marble and entirely modern. [...] The first book of the registers begins in 1568". {NB: the presdent font is 19th-century; we have no information on the font of the 13th-century church here].
