The Victoria County History (Huntingdon, vol. 2, 1932) notes: "The Church of St. Mary was mentioned in 1086, when it belonged to Countess Judith's manor [...] but the earliest work visible is the late 12thcentury north arcade of the nave, and possibly the base of the south wall of the chancel. Considerable rebuilding seems to have taken place during the latter half of the 13th century [...] The modern font is octagonal on a central and four small shafts." The VCH (ibid.) adds that the baptismal register starts 25 October 1545. [NB: we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church].
