A church in Rodington is reported the Domesday Book (1086), but the present church is chiefly a Victorian re-building, although there is some medieval stonework left in it. The Ecclesiologist (vol. 9, 1849: 80) reports: "the Rector of Rodington, Salop, has succeeded in rescuing his font from a flower garden, and restoring it to its proper place and use." [NB: we have no information on the present whereabouts of the rescued font reported in The Ecclesiologist [cf. supra].]
