Font Notes:
Baptismal font consisting of a round basin with moulded sides raised on a splaying square (?) base decorated with graded mouldings. It is topped by a rare [for Spain] and noteworthy wooden cover of the rim-buffet type, cylindrical and with a dome top; the sides are painted in bright brown, blue and gold, and has an emblem at the front that includes a priestly stole and a book; the inside of the cover has a painted scene of the baptism of Christ in the Jordan, in a background of blue sky and stars; very grand. Both font and cover are fitted into a narrow alcove in the wall of the nave. [NB: there appears to be a smaller round basin stored in the same alcove as the font, on the left corner, perhaps an old font or stoup].
