An object said to have originated in the church or chapel of Santa Maria del Monte, near Respenda de la Peña; it now serves as base for a planter in a local garden; it consists of a trapezoidal basin chamfered decorated with a large vegetal motif on each side; raised on a square pedestal base that has a row of ball motifs on one side, a fleur-de-lis motif in a trellis on another. A recent photograph we received shows it holding up a planter, the upper part of the basin badly damaged. The object does not appear to have been a baptismal font, and may have been originally not a liturgical vessel, but may have nonetheless be used as holy-water stoup.
