Font Notes:
The present font in the parish church of this hamlet of Lena is probably a composite of a relatively modern basin and an older base. The church itself dates back to the 11th-12th century (?) monastery to which is said to have belonged, and the portal is indeed Romanesque, although the font itself is nowhere close to that date; the quadrangular pedestal base may be medieval. [NB: we have no information on the original basin of this font]. The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/asturias_SOTIELLO.pdf] [accessed 12 September 2025] does not menuon the font but describes a capital and column re-purposed as holy-water stoup by the main antranceway: "Pegada a la puerta monumental aparece una columna con un capitel que fue reaprovechado como pila de agua bendita y que consta de una fila de hojas triangulares, colocadas en la base, y otra hilera decorada mediante cintas que sostienen hojas, siguiendo nuevamente un esquema existente en la colegiata de Arbas."
