Hussell (1910) notes that the medieval church here was restored between 1866 and 1882 by Sir G. Gilbert Scott; It makes a mention of a font here, as an excellent example of the sculptor's art, but it appears to refer to the modern font introduced by Scott, and there is no mention of the earlier one. [NB: we have no information on the medieval font here].
