Described and illustrated in the Parish web site [www.kirchenundkapellen.de/kirchen/dah-jakob.php] [accessed 4 December 2011]: "Noch aus der Vorgängerkirche übernommen wurde der achteckige, spätgotische Rotmarmortaufstein des 15. Jh. Baptismal font of reddish marble in the late 15th century; it consists of an octagonal basin with plain vertical sides, raised on an octagonal pedestal and a lower base of the same shape. The font cover, made by Adam Luidl in 1675, is a low dome with a large scene of the Baptism of Christ by John the Baptist. [NB: we have no information on the font from the medieval church here].
