There is an entry for Aldermaston [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU5965/aldermaston/] [accessed 28 April 2015], and it mentions a church in it. The Victoria County History (Berkshire, vol. 3, 1923) notes: "The church of Aldermaston is mentioned in the Domesday Survey [...] The earliest part of the present building is the nave, which was originally both nave and chancel of an early 12th-century church. [...] The church was thoroughly restored in 1896 [...] The font is modern." [NB: we have no information on the font from the Domesday church here].
