There is an entry for [Little] Wittenham [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU5693/little-wittenham/] [accessed 1 June 2015]; it mentons a church in it. The Victoria County History (Berkshire, vol. 4, 1924) notes: "There was a church in the manor in 1086, [...] and the advowson descended with the manor until the sale of the latter to William Hallet in 1788. [...] With the exception of the 14th-century west tower the church was entirely rebuilt in 1863 [...] The 15th century font is octagonal, with a moulded base."
