Murray (1882) writes: "The old Norm[an] font, of stone, with an arcade and figures in lead, has been preserved." The British Listed Buildings database [http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-39584-church-of-st-matthew-midgham] [accessed 10 November 2011], however, reports a 19th-century font in this church at present.
