No individual entry found for Billington in the Domesday survey. The Victoria County History (Bedford, vol. 3, 1912) notes: "The plan of the church dates from the latter part of the 13th century, and of that date are the arch of the west window of the nave and the piscina in the chancel, the chancel itself having been rebuilt in modern times. [...] The octagonal font is 15th-century work of plain design."
