The Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 5, 1912) notes: "The history of the present building begins late in the 12th century [...]The octagonal font dates from the middle of the 15th century, and has quatrefoiled panels on each face of the bowl, the stem having a trefoiled panel on each face." [NB: we have no information on the font of the late-12th century church].
