According to the database Mérimée [www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/merimee_fr?] [accessed 3 September 2011] [réf.: PA00095395] the church itself dates from 1030 and was expanded in 1080. The font, however, appears to be of a later date, perhaps late-medieval; it consists of a round basin with plain vertical sides and a long underbowl, also plain; raised on a plain cylindrical stem, and a quadrangular moulded lower base. There is some damage around the upper rim, and no cover hardware visible.
