According to Mérimée [www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/merimee_fr] [accessed 3 September 2011] [réf. PA00084110] the fabric of the church dates from the 11th century. The present font, however, is not; it consists of a hemispherical basin with ribbed pattern around the sides, raised on a quadrangular pedestal base of 16th- or 17th-century appearance. [NB: we have no information on the original font of the Romanesque church].
