Described in the Palissy database [www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/palissy_fr] [accessed 26 August 2011] [réf.: IM40003296]: baptismal font made of limestone, consisting of a plain tapering octagonal basin raised on a plain cylindrical pedestal base; the upper side of tha basin has a metal reinforcement band all around; the inner well has a central drain hole; the outer sides are very rough and the upper rim is damaged, showing evidence of the cover anchoring hardware. [NB: Palissy (ibid.) notes that the original church here may have existed by 1088, but we have no information on the earlier font of that church]
