The present font consists of a shallow basin raised on a round pedestal base and a round-to-square lower base, all in shocking red and white marble; probably late-17th century. [NB: the church dates originally from the Romanesque period, though much changed and renovated through the ages; we have no information on its medieval font -- BSI visited a nearby convent (?) in which an old font is kept and used as a planter; we were unable to determine whther this font had belonged originally to St-Jean's].
