The Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 4, 1911) notes: "church, of unknown dedication [...] The present plan appears to represent a structure perhaps of the 12th century, but no detail earlier than the 13th-century east window of the chancel is to be seen. [...] the head of a small 12th-century window is preserved in the church. [...] the font is a small marble basin on a fluted column of the 18th century, set near the north door."
