The Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 4, 2011) notes: "The history of the church begins about the middle of the 12th century, to which date the nave belongs. The chancel, judging by its north windows, dates from the end of the same century. [...] The font has been recut to its present form within memory, but is old, and perhaps of the 12th century. " The re-cut font consists of a round tapering basin -formerly tub-shaped?- on a short cylindrical stem and a modern circular lower base. The wooden cover, plain, flat and round, is modern. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SU4085456384] reports "a tub font" in it.
