There is an entry for this Lichfield [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK1109/lichfield/] [accessed 15 July 2019]; it reports five priests, but not a church in it, though there must have been one there. A 1824 sepia drawing of the later, 1669, font by J. Buckler can be found at the William Salt Library: "an octagonal font with shields on panelled sides, and fleurs de lis and roses below. One shield is marked W.C., 1669, and another with a cross flory between Maltese crosses". The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK1238109510] notes: "Church. Mainly C13 in origin with C14 tower, but mostly dating from restoration of 1842-3 by Thomas Johnson, chancel restored, 1890-1, by JO Scott. [...] nave has font with initials and date: WG/ 1669, octagonal with roll-moulded angles and stylised Tudor roses and fleurs-de-lis". The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with blank and charged shields on the sides, and a rope moulding below; plain underbowl chamfer; short octagonal pedestal base with floral motifs (roses, fleurs-de-lis, etc.) on the sides; short splaying lower base, also octagonal [NB: the original church was probably late-12th century; we have no information on the medieval font]
