Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in the Palissy database entry [Ref. Palissy IM40000865] with date in the second half of the 19th century. On-site visit: baptismal font consisting of a moulded oval-shaped basin raised on a moulded pedestal base of perhaps later date. The wooden cover is a low dome, also oval-shaped, moulded, with a Latin cross finial on foliated base; modern. There are two holy-water stoups by the right (south) and left (north) pillars at the west end of the nave; they may be pre-1700; one of them may have had some carving on it, but it is now damaged beyond recognition. [NB: the original fabric of the church goes back to the 12th century, with major expansions and renovations in the 14th and 19th centuries; we have no information on its medieval font].
