There is an entry for Cliddesden [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU6349/cliddesden/] [accessed 7 August 2018]; it reports a church in it. The Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 4, 1911) notes: "All the furniture is modern. [...] The walling of the nave probably belongs to the 12th century, but the only old detail now left in the building is a plain blocked round-headed doorway in the north wall; the rest is modern [...] All the furniture is modern. The present modern font is located at the west end of the nave, and has a pyramidal wooden cover; presumably they are both Victorian. [NB: we have no information on the font of the church reported in the Domesday survey of 1086].
