There is an entry for Weston [Patrick] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU6946/weston-patrick/] [accessed 7 August 2018], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 4, 1911) notes: "The little church of St. Lawrence was rebuilt in 1868 [...] The only part of the old church which has been preserved is the north doorway of the nave, which dates from the end of the 12th century". The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SU6904247010] reports an octagonal font in this church, but does not give a date for it. The present font, probably from the Victorian re-building of 1868, is typical of the period: an octagonal basin with carved panels, raised on four columns or reddish marble (?) with moulded capitals and bases, on an lower base and a plinth, both octagonal. The wooden cover, octagonal and flat, is also modern. [NB: we have no information on the font from the late-12th century church]
