There is an entry for this Grove [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP9122/grove/] [accessed 17 November 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Sheahan (1862) writes: "The Church is a very small mean edifice, looking like the chancel only of a larger building [...] a late Perpendicular doorway in the north side; and a Decorated window of three lights at the west end [...] The font is large, rude, and ancient". The Victoria County History (Buckingham, vol. 3, 1925) notes: "With the exception of the font, which is probably of the 12th century, there is no evidence of any work of an earlier date than the 14th century, at which period the church was probably rebuilt [...] The font has a circular bowl of clunch with a moulded upper and lower edge, probably of 12thcentury date. It has been repaired, but is in poor condition and rests on a modern base." Local information [cf. Church Notes] indicates this church was sold off and turned into a private dwelling in the 1970s. The Photos of Churches web site for the Church at Llantrisant, Anglesey, informs: "The font came from the smallest church in Buckinghamshire, St Michael and All Saints at Grove. When that church was made redundant in the 1960's, the font was removed and sent to Llantrisant." [cf. Index entry for Llantrisant (Anglesey), for this medieval Grove font]. The former church is illustrated in a listing brochure by Cesare&Co [http://brochures.rt-sb.net/media\properties\35817\35817_Cesare1\Brochure\35817_Cesare1.pdf] [accessed 17 November 2015]
