No individual entry for this Walton found in the Domesday survey. Sheahan (1862) notes the parish church here, Decorated with a Perpendicular tower, but mentions no font in it. The Victoria County History (Buckingham, vol. 4, 1927) notes: "A church existed here in 1225 [...] but the structure of that period was entirely rebuilt about the middle of the 14th century [...] The tower was added in the 15th century [...] general restoration of the church in 1861 [...] The font is modern." For a time no information was available of the late-medieval font of this church, one that would have replaced the one from the 13th-century church; the modern font reported in the VCH [cf. supra] must have been introduced at the time of the 1861 renovations. The British Listed Buildings database [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-45906-st-michael-s-church-of-the-open-universit], however, informs that "The C14 octagonal font has been restored." The BLB (ibid.) further informs that the former parish church became the Church of the Open University [distant learning] and functions both as church and recital hall of the O.U.
