The entry for this church in the Dutch Wikipedia [https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Martinuskerk_(Tessenderlo)] [accessed 26 January 2025] reports a 12th-century baptismal font decorated with four heads on the basin; 17th-century brass font cover ["Het doopvont stamt uit de 12e eeuw. Het heeft een 17e-eeuws messing deksel. Op de kuip van het vont zijn vier maskers afgebeeld, die de paradijsstromen verbeelden"].
Baptismal font consisting of a basin with a square top and cylindrical below, with animal heads at the angles and an arcade of round arches on double columns with capitals and bases on the sides; the angle lions are beautifully avuncular, almost owl-like, and serve as capitals to the outer colonnettes of the base; the latter are detached from the broad central shaft; the lower base has mouldings that match the bases of the columns, with a square lower base below. Metal cover of moulded brass with metal swing arm at the back for removal; 17th-century?
