Noted and illustrated in García de Castro Valdés (1995 and 2000): baptismal font now located in the eastern chapel that serves as sacristy, against the wall, no longer in use; tub basin made of schist stone, of oblong shape with rounded corners; the front side, one of the two long ones, has eleven ribs or piping; the drain hole is located on the back interior arris, in the centre, and GdeCV (ibid.) reads it as an indication that the basin was built to go directly on the ground, without a base, and suggests a date in the 11th century. GdeCV (ibid.) notes other quadrangular fonts of the period in Beloncio, Santa Maria de Villanueva de Valdecarzana, San Isidoro de Leon; the fonts at Gormaz and San Julian de Bustasurm, perhaps of the 12th century [after Garcia Guinea (1996)]; the one at San Prudencio de Armentia in the 12th century [after Bilbao 1994]; the fonts at Soto de Bureba, Santillan del Agua, San Miguel de Rosales, Santa Maria de Dosante and San Andres de Quintanillabon, in either the late-12th or early 13th-century [after Bilbao (1996)]; and the later Navarrese ones in the 13th century in Ripodas y Turrillas [after Domeño (1992)] [cf. Index entries for these fonts] [NB:the funeral inscription bearing the date 1063 and built into the portal of this church need not be related to the date of the church of the fonts, but does fit into the dating scheme suggested by GdeCV]. This object was raised on a pillar and is now [August 2016] set against a wall.
