There is an entry for [Little] Linford [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP8444/little-linford/] [accessed 23 February 2016], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Sheahan (1862) describes the church here as "Gothic, with Norman details"; the font, "ancient, large, cylindrical, and lined with lead; but the tracery-work on its rim and sides is complitely obliterated by repeated coats of lime-wash ." The Victoria County History (Buckingham, vol. 4, 1927) notes: "The church, which was a chapel to Newport Pagnell, [...] was given by Fulk Paynel to Tickford Priory early in the 12th century, the grant being confirmed by his son Ralph and by his grandson Gervase in 1187. [...] The [present] building dates from the early 13th century [...] The font has a circular bowl, which is probably old, but its detail is obscured by cement."
