Font Notes:
There is an entry for Edgcott [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP6722/edgcott/] [accessed 14 January 2016], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Sheahan (1862) reportes a plain octagonal font in this "plain but venerable edifice". The Victoria County History (Buckingham, vol. 4, 1927) notes: "The plan of the present building is probably the result of the gradual rebuilding of a 12th-century church [...] The earliest recorded presentation to the church was made between 1209 and 1219 by the lord of the manor [...] The plain octagonal font is of the 15th century".
