Font Notes:
Mackeprang (1941) noted the font in this church as being of the 'Funen type'. Some years later, in 1954, during the restoration of the church the font was dismantled; it was then discovered that the two parts of the font, basin and base, were actually two basins; the piece serving as base proved to be an unfinished basin [cf. FontNotes for Skarup No. 2]. The completed basin is tub-shaped, with tapering sides decorated with four human faces and a rope moulding around the upper part, a set of blank round arches below; it is not raised on a quadrangular base, also of granite but modern. This is the font used for baptisms. Described in the Parish web site: "Døbefonten. [source: Parish web site [www.skaarupkirke.dk/index.php?id=890]]
