Church Notes: "built between 1040 and 1050 [...] demolished in 1819–1822. Today only the porch of the north portal remains. It was a church of Benedictine canons, The description "cathedral" became common in the modern era and is misleading because the collegiate church was never the seat of a bishop. [...] Amongst the furnishings of the cathedral were the bronze Krodo Altar and Imperial Throne of Goslar from the 11th century that have survived to the present day"
[NB: only the north porch, an altar and a throne from the original mid-11th century church remain; we have no information on its baptismal font]
