Le Patrimoine des communes du Bas-Rhin (1999, v. 1, p. 650), informs that "des fragments de cette cuve baptismale monolothique ont été découverts dans le choeur de la chapelle de Betbur, lors de travaux réalisés en 1916"; these fragments, together with others which had been found as part of the cemetery wall, were then brought together and "cette cuve baptismale, reconstituée, est déposée au Musée de l'Oeuvre de Notre-Dame à Strasbourg." In the Patrimoine de France database [N° notice : IA67007575 / Inventaire général, 1997] [http://www.patrimoine-de-france.org/oeuvres/richesses-1-214-3450-M135662-9260.html], with location now in the Musée de l'Oeuvre de Notre-Dame, Strasbourg: "Des fragments de fonts baptismaux ont été découverts au début du 20e siècle et remontés au musée de l' Oeuvre Notre-Dame à Strasbourg : ils peuvent être également datés du 12e siècle." Described and illustrated in Braun (2010), who dates it ca. 1160. The fragment is actually a large part of the cylindrical basin; there is an arcade of round arches on columns with well-defined capitals and bases; in one of the arches, a standing human figure carries an object [a club of some sort?] of which we can only see the long handle [***NB: THE IDENTIFICATION OF THIS IMAGE COULD BE AN ERROR IN THE SOURCE***]. The present baptismal font in the church, a hexagonal one of the early-18th century with a wooden cover, is inventoried in the Palissy database [ref. no. IM67011123]: "Fonts baptismaux datés 1805, provenant de l' ancienne chapelle. Ils s' inspirent dans leur forme et leur décor de fonts du 17e siècle [...] Pied et cuve de plan hexagonal. Sur la cuve cartouche avec la date. Couvercle en chêne."
