Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Sáenz Rodríguez (2004), who notes that this font used to be in the Iglesia Parroquial de San Martin, in the baptistery, beneath the tower, at the west end of the nave, on the south side; this church was restored in in the 1970s and a new font was introduced, the old one being then moved to the exterior of the rural chapel of La Virgen del Roble nearby, where it is located on the grounds, to the south, serving as a garden planter [NB: in December 2008 it held a small pine [Christmas?] tree]. Sáenz Rodríguez (ibid.) suggests that its design fits a wide chronological range, up to the 16th century. The roughly hemispherical basin, raised on an also plain octagonal pedestal base, has had several drain holes drilled at the bottom to suit its new function as garden planter
