There are three entries for this Wolverton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU5558/wolverton/] [accessed 8 March 2016], none of which mentions a church in it. White (1878) mentions a font in this church but gives no details of it. The Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 4, 1911) notes: "The first mention of a church in Wolverton is in 1286 in the inquisition taken on the death of Reginald Fitz Peter. [...] The font is modern and octagonal." [NB: the present 18th-century church encloses an earlier church of the 15th century; it was restored in the early 1870s; we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
