Wade-Evans' Parochiale Wallicanum (1911) cites from Jonathan Williams' Radnorshire (p. 232) the unearthing of "a curious old batismal font" at at Lower Cyfaelog, near Llanbister, in 1805, perhaps part of a church dedicated to St. Cyfaelog; Wade-Evans suggests that the no saint by that name was known to him, and that the place where the font was found "seems to be Caervaelog". [NB: we have no information on the present whereabouts of this font]
