There are three entries for Beachampton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP7737/beachampton/] [accessed 7 January 2016], none of which mention cleric or church in it. Sheahan (1862), reporting before the renovation that was to take place a few years later, described the existing font at that time as "plain and circular". The Architect (issue of 2 August 1873) reports on the completion of renovations under the direction of G.E. Street, for which a new font was donated by "the farmers' wives". The Victoria County History (Buckingham, vol. 4, 1927) notes: "No detail survives of an earlier period than the north arcade of the nave, which is of the first half of the 14th century [...] The church was restored in 1873–4, and again more recently [...] The font and fittings are modern." [NB: we have no other information on the earlier font of this church, other than Sheahan's brief account -- this font could not be the one in Llanymynech [cf. Index entry] as it was installed in that church in 1845 -- cf. Index entry for Beachampton No. 1]
