Baptismal font consisting of an oval basin raised on a plain circular pedestal base; a wooden piece has been attached to one of the large dents at the upper rim, probably to secure the font cover [missing?]; there is a double moulding at the upper rim, but much of this upper part is severely damaged; the basin has some medieval characteristics but the shape is wrong, one that harks at a much later date, perhaps the 16th or 17th century; the pedestal base is totally plain and could be from any time period [NB: the present church dates from the 13th century, as part of the Cistercian Monastery, but there is local claim to the existence of a church here sinve the late 8th century, founded by prince Adelgaster and his wife Brunilde; Adelgaster was the basrard son of king Don Silo]
