Described and illustrated in Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Soultanian and Tayar (2010): :This cushion capital, modified for use as holy-water font, is carved on all four faces with different designs: side A has a pattern of acanthus leaves [...]; side B confronted peacocks; Side C, an elaborate decorative grapevine; and side D, two birds pecking at fruit on a tree. Each design is framed by a much-abraded twisted rope-molding." The material is identified in this source as "Parian marble", which "raises the possibility that it could have come from outside Italy, perhaps from one of the islands in the Aegean that became part of the Venetian empire in the thirteenth century. The dating is given in the same source as early-12th century.
