Lewis' Dictionary of 1849 notes: "The church, dedicated to St. Elidyr, is a very ancient structure, now nearly in ruins". The RCAHMW (Pembroke, 1925) reports a modern font in this church in their visit of 20 May 1915; the church itself had undergpne a re-building in in 1843 and a subsequent restoration in 1878. The font probably dates from one of those dates. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original church]
