Cognate Fonts: a font of this type was replaced from Cabezas Rubias, also in Huelva prov. In the late 17th century [cf. Index entry]; other such fonts in Seville, the Canary Islands, etc.
Nnoted and illustrated in Carrasco Terriza et al. (2006) as the pedestal base of an early-16th century baptismal font of the Mudejar style made of dark green glazed ceramic; the cylindrical pedestal has roll mouldings at both ends, the sides completely covered in small figural representations identified in the source as St. Mary and St. John the Evangelist portrayed as in Crucifixion scenes; also on the sides are tiny sea-horses. The pedestal stands now [2006] on its own, in the baptismal chapel of this church.
