Font Notes:
Noted and illustrated in García Omedes [www.arquivoltas.com] as a baptismal font probably dating from the restauration of the older church. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin raised on a moulded cylindrical pedestal base; the basin is rather irregular, and is decorated with a band of rosettes, etc., between thin mouldings, all around just below the upper rim; on one side is a carved shield with a large trefoiled cross and what may be some of the Instruments of the Passion; this carving is late, whereas the rest of ther basin could pass for medieval [unless it was re-carved]. A metal staple of the old cover remains in the upper rim, but it has split the stone next to it. The wooden cover is flat, round and plain; modern. The entry for this site in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_TABLIEGA.pdf] [accessed 7 September 2025] reports: "En el hastial de la nave se dispone el sencillo coro de madera, bajo el cual se ubica la pila bautismal, hemisférica, obra probablemente de los siglos XVI o XVII."
